OK, so there was some holes after all!

Just because the chassis looks OK, doesn't mean that after shotblasting there won't be any holes! Chassis is now with a friend who will be doing the repairs and also etchpriming and spraying with hammerite.

Much better than the frankly scary amount I was quoted for repairs!

Looks like it could have been a lot worse - although those holes will get bigger if you start chasing them with a MIG till you get back to sound thickness metal. Keep the pics coming!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it only seems to get worse the more the repair goes on.

As part of the rebuild, mine was shown to have poor original welds, steel rusting through from the inside, pitting on the tube work etc etc.

If it has been blasted the worst should now at least be showing, just don't hold your breath yet. Once they start to let new sections in the final truth will be fully apparent. The finished product is a joy to behold though.

Here's hoping yours has weathered better than mine did, and mine was waxoyld regularly etc.

It is worth the wait, though mine has been sat snowed in in my garage for since I got her back after nearly 8 months !

Max, was in a hurry at RTR when I went in, but I think I saw yours up on a ramp, red S with partial body off. No surprises, but there was definitely some holes! The one I could see was in the end of the rear section (to right side of middle photo above). But I'm sure you were expecting some!
