brake bleeding sequence

hi all

one of my jobs over the xmas break will be bleeding the brakes
i've gone over the steve heath manual to see if there is a set sequence on bleeding but no mention on there
i'm sure i have to bleed the rears first followed by the fronts but do you do the nearside or offside first ? does it matter

Don't think its that critical but I was taught always start at furthest away from master cylinder, so that would be n/s/rear.

That's the way I've always done it too and seems to work very well for me.

Allways bleed the one that's furthest away from the master cylinder first and work your way back

As above, but if you are refilling an empty system you need to bleed the master cylinder first (and possibly even by slackening the unions rather than just the blanking bleed valve in the unused connection) and then also the balance valve by slackening the unions - I found this out the hard way and it makes refilling much easier and quicker.

Me too ! pulling my hair out trying to get a "decent pedal" until I cracked the top connection and a gurgle of air came out.
But probably if only doing a fluid change just going round the four corners should do (imho).
