rear plastic window

Hi,
Can anybody reccommend any cleaning or conditioning products to stop the rear window going brittle or cloudy ? I remember a product i had years ago that worked well.

Best thing I've found for improving the clarity of a rear screen which has started to deteriorate is ....... brasso.

It is good - but I have also heard many other products that are not specialist branded as plastic window cleaner are very good. Autoglym Super Resin polish has certainly been mentioned previously.

My bottle of Renovo will probably last me for a couple of years hence and it is already three years old. The screen only needs polishing occasionally after all.

There are a couple of products that can help to clear a plastic window, but it will still go hard and brittle with age and sunlight. I've used the Renovo and Langka (no longer available). There is also Hindsight. All these products are abrasive, so you need to be careful.

I can recommend Renovo plastic window cleaner I used it recently and it made a huge difference, takes out all the little scratches and removes the film of dirt.Got mine on Ebay cheap enough.

Has anyone ever tried replacing the flexi rear screen with a zipped-in glass screen as seen on older MX5's ? they look smaller than our screens (to drop between the stays? )but if anyone has a totalled plastic screen now, it could be worth considering... a project for Norman perhaps ?

Just had a new hood and since I got the car back I have been VERY careful with the rear screen and have realised that a good idea might be to reduce the size of the rear window (to fit beteen the stays) make it zip out and out of GLASS. Should flop down and hang between the stays, could be heated. The drwaback would be loss of rear quarter views so not sure.

Novus 1 plastic clean & shine
Novus 2 fine scratch remover

First clean the window, then use Novus 2 and wait till it is dry. Remove it from the window. And use Novus 1.
Outside and inside.

Costs € 20,-.
