removal of the rear trailing arm ?

hi all
need some advice on how to remove the nut and bolt on the rear trailing arm the one on the outside edge of the car
the nut i need to get to with a spanner or socket is partly covered by the metal upright that holds the shocks
sorry i dont know how to download photos but i'm refering to the steve heath book page 162 , 164 shows the trailing arm to the left of the metal upright
i cant get a spanner/socket/ring spanner in there ?
looking closer to the book photo page 164 it shows that the nut is on the left , where mine is on the right next to the metal upright which is making it very
difficult to get to

I take it that it is this nut and bolt through the mounting bush you are talking about?
If so, I have to admit I'm not sure what advice you're looking for - What's stopping you getting a ring spanner or socket on it? Mine is easy (well getting it off isn't exactly easy, but getting a spanner on it, is).

I recall having to jam a generic poking stick (not a screwdriver at all) in there due to not being able to get a spanner in. I had to cut the outer bolt on the passenger side when I took the car apart to get the chassis sorted as it wouldn't fit past the body/seatbelt mounting bracket.
Try to avoid cutting them if you can as they're a daft size that is not easy to get hold of (Steve Heath does them but I wasn't able to find anyone else that does.)

The problem comes when the bolt has rusted to the inner metal tube of the bush. You then think you're undoing the bolt (which may be true of the nut) but you're also turning the inner metal tube of the bush which tears it away from the rubber, so you also wreck the bush!
Once the nut is off it still won't come out as the tube and bolt are rusted together
My bushes were knackered anyway - they had rusted between the rubber / metal joint.
If you're wondering whether to replace the bushes or not if the middle comes out (i.e. its fooked) they are easy to remove, a quick blast down them with a cold chisel and they pop out.
You need to refit new ones with a press - I got a caravan place down the road to do them, they charged me £25 I think.
Once the nut is off it still won't come out as the tube and bolt are rusted together

)Mine undid and "tapped" out quite easily and don't recall any issues with access to get on nut or bolt head ?
But I'm not all knowing so it never even occured to me that they wouldn't come out.
