Minor disaster major dilemma

Are you the kind of person that leaves the plastic cover on your new sofa ? I guess that's the question !
Led me to the ironic thought - if TVR had used an inset lens that now wasn't available and the DAF ones were still £7 a pair, would we be buying the DAF ones to cover our precious originals ?
There are two basic choices:
1. Wrap car in bubble wrap, place in secure garage, and don't dare to drive it unless it hasn't rained for a month and you're not going far. THey do retain their shine somewhat better in those circumstances; or
2. Use the bloody thing the way it was intended to be used, and accept that you'll have to fix things from time to time. If you do have to fix it, either keep it totally original (barring stainless hinges, badges, petrol caps etc) and put your "spare" inducators on, or not.
Personally, I don't give a stuff about "originality" especially whenthey were all different anyway, and, to me, the alternative indicators look better anyway.

I beg to differ (mind you I've only cleaned it 3 times in 10 years I've had it). Having used my car daily for 5 years the rain washed it clean. Since it's been living in the garage it's absolutely covered in dust!1. You're clearly "category 2" from my post anyway.

Yep spot on but I do prefer to try to keep as much as possible to the original design but if I can I will always use superior materials which, I guess, TVR couldnt afford to use when the cars were being 'mass' producedI disagree about the alternative indicators but each to their own.
Given the chance this is the way I would go
Gassing Station | S Series | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff

Would a clear self-adhesive covering help, it would at least retain the chipped bit I guess so it could be glued back maybe.
