V8S - another MOT!

Had slight trepidation after bringing it out of garage for the first time in about 6 months. Left it running on drive-way while I inflated tyres and went through basic check of the obvious. Was a bit miffed when turning on the left hand indicator as both the reverse lamps came on. After a few clicks on and off it righted itself, typically TVR (read Ford!).

Sailed through though MOT, no advisories.

One for Chris (Barkychoc). When I set off this morning the speedo was not registering. After a couple of miles it started to move very slowly (I was now on dual-carriageway in queue of traffic at steady 50mph due to awful weather conditions). The speedo had now reach almost 10mph. After a further couple of miles it reached 50mph, and by the time I'd got to the MOT centre it seemed to be operating normally. When I picked the car up this evening it seemed fine straight away. Do you think it likely that the clock itself is seizing up through lack of use?

Exactly the same symptoms as mine - I've ordered a new speedo so I am hoping that will fix it!
Pretty sure it isn't seizing up as I recently had one apart that Norman sent me and there really isn't much to seize up inside.

I have asked for my speedo to be a plug in replacement - I'm not bothering to change the sensor as discussed in the thread.

Hi barkychoc, how difficult would installation be (dash out job ?). I have exactly the same problems with my speedo.

I dropped the steering column to get mine out, was pretty easy, no need to remove the dash.

thanks for that - not sure it's for me though. I've always had an aversion to digital watches, preferring analogue!
