Glove box lock

Kind of a daft question, but !
The lock on my glovebox is black but the paint has flaked over the years where it has been locked/unlocked with the key. I'm keen to tidy it up, but want to use something that will be more durable.
Anyone got any thoughts on the most durable black paint I could use ? I suppose I could get it powder coated otherwise so suggestions on where to send it would also be appreciated.

Oh that my car was so perfect I only had to worry about a chip on the glovebox lock 
Wouldn't the lock have to be totally dis-assembled to powder coat, this may be possible unless it is sort of riveted together ?
How about a little pot of "Humbrol" black from a model shop and just keep touching it up every so often ?
Think locks were supplied by "Southco Ltd" maybe still available ?
ETA try this but not black !
