Coolant System Overhaul

Well I've finally decided to go for it. Had most of the bits for a while but being away in the week never seemed to get to taking the rad in for a recore. Got a week off this week so though sod it it's dry and warm and the wife's a work so lets strip the car. I'll tidy up the wiring at the same time and post a few pics on here and my website as I go along

Any tips that people have would be welcome, the only one I'm aware of at present is re-tighten jubilee clips on the silicon hoses every other week or so for a while until the system settles

Oh and don't tell me where to put the pressure cap

Definately worth "splashing a little extra cash" and going for stainless hose clips. IMHO

(But expect you were going to anyway)

Yep the stainless ones come with the hoses from TVR Car Parts

You might be better getting Mikalor vastly superious to jubilee type I think

Mikalors maybe a little "over the top" but they do look good. We use a lot at work and you do have to be quite accurate with your measuring, each size does not cover a particularly wide range of diameters unlike a worm drive (Jubilee) clip which will just keep tightening up, within reason, but do look untidy with too much spare "thread" sticking out.

Mark, that came from a motor factors in Salisbury, I don`t have the shop name as it was just a quick visit whilst I was in the area.

Well I know what I mean !

Good advice. Has anyone made a list of the sizes needed for an S3C? Sure I'll be doing this job at some point, when I do I'll try and list the sizes for future reference. But has anyone done it already?

Hi Fred, I got them seperateley, they give the car a nice finish too, as said before check tighten the hose clips, they will leak. I got a couple off of Ebay after identifying what I needed.
