So.... The new garage is built, the tools are away and the car is back where it belongs, albeit on a SORN.
Now begins the process of stripping right down to restore the chassis, lets hope for nothing too scary. before I go launching in can anybody point me to the definitive guide to getting the body off to save my usual trial and error approach??

includes useful advice on both a partial body lift (raising it 6 inches or so to do the outriggers) and also a full body off. My site at

includes a recent partial body lift and chassis repair on the diary pages, starting in July this year.
Wouldn't say they are definitive, but you might find them useful.

Got no specific advice to give apart from the tips I was give when doing tractors - put the bolts back in the hole when you have taken something apart so you have got them for the reassemble and take lots of pics to remember where everything went. Good luck if you need picking up to get to S club 2011 give us a shout we will find some space around the whiskey.
So the body's off! All jacked up and ready for the friends to help me carry it out of the garage!

Good news is the outriggers are really solid. Pretty sure they must have been replaced some time in the past. No holes anywhere, hooray!
Thanks for the help from the posts earlier, meant I didn't miss any cnnections (although the fuel pump was a close one!) Not sure if this is just an S1 thing but the footwells are wider at the bottom than the top of the chassis, meaning that I couldn't lift the body straight up, had to be slid backwards and up. Again, easier with a photo.
