I am in the market for an S3 and lok as if i have missed out on Allisons, I have spotted another that might be for Sale but it has an S2 bonnet with no spot lights, is this unusual or could it have been in a bang and replaced with watever was available?
Also has anyone got any tips as to how to remove My MGBGT which is in my garage not used for 13years with the brakes locked/rusted on, cutting it up into manageable pieces is not an option at this stage!

There are very few (if any) true S's around. Many cars have got parts on from the previous spec or even parts from the later spec cars.

It is not unusual to see a S3 with a S2 bonnet and probably just means it was an early S3 when they still S2 bonnets at the factory. It may have been specced out that way by the customer as well.

As for how to remove the MGBGT I would suggest a BIG tow truck

Cheers

If you don't mind spending money you can get a set of dollys to go under the wheels. Otherwise, unless you're going to strip the brakes it'll probably involve brute force somehow. If you jack each corner up and put a piece of ply under each wheel it'll be a bit easier to drag out.

This thread takes me back!
The problem you have requires a very difficult and delicate procedure in order to solve. Allow me to explain:
I had a similar problem with a MK 2 Cortina Estate which refused to come out of the garage after 7 years!
Solution: Drag the fuer out with a powerful car then jack the car up and smack the shite out of the drums with the biggest lump hammer in the world in order to free the brakes!
It worked for me!

Guy,

A lot of S3s had the non spot bonnet with the single scoop on the top. The S3Cs also sometimes had it although a number of them (including Alisons and mine) had the 'Driving lamp' bonnet without the scoop, but with Chim style vents down the side. This was often referred to as the S4 bonnet.

A S3 with the earlier bonnet is nothing to worry about.

Of course the most attractive S bonnet is the one with the driving lamps and the big bulge on the top - and a V8 underneath.

Cheers,
JSG.

By an S2 bonnet do you mean without the driving lights? I thought when new the S3 didn't have the driving lights as standard, and the S3c had them as standard, but being TVR you could order what you wanted.
