Hi Chaps,
Finally got my car back after a load of work (including outriggers) was completed by the TVR Centre in Arkley. I thought I'd post the interior shots and you can let me know whether you prefer the before or after versions (I'm really hoping you say after !):
The interior was reveneered by Malcolm Hall at London Carriage Craft. The quality of workmanship is incredible. Unfortunately it shows the rest of the interior up now !

Still more work to do but only bought the car in June and have hardly had use of it all summer. Really hoping it'll be in good shape now for next summer.
Does anybody have any suggestions for replacement gearknobs ? I tried with a Momo gearknob to match the steering wheel but it's fitted with grub screws and continually works loose. Ideally I'd replace the original item with something that screws on the same way.

I use one of these and think it is just perfect for the car but may look a bit utilitarian with your new interior. Stuart

Well, since you ask -
I would have been perfectly happy with the original wood veneer, it looks in good nick. I suspect the new version looks more like this:
(you need to set the white balance to auto on your new camera...)
which looks equally nice. Personally I hate wooden wheels and knobs, so the new ones look better to me. My came with a horrid wooden billiard ball of a gear knob and I replaced it with a leather BMW item which just happened to have the right gate pattern on it, but getting a screw-on one may be difficult. The BMW one has a large clip-on socket in it, into which I epoxy-ed a steel socket tapped to the correct thread size (7/16 UNF, or some-such). It looks like this:
You may have to do (or have done) something similar unless you can find a period knob with the correct old english thread size (eg Rover SD1??).
Is this the post with the most use of the word 'knob' in it??

I figured this would divide opinion !
Also could not stand driving with a wooden wheel. I equate it to playing golf with clubs with wooden grips. Not that my golf much good either ;-) I've kept the original wheel in case I decide to put it back the way it was one day.
The veneers on the doors had started flaking badly and the lower dash was pitting, so although it could never be considered an essential fix, I fancied trying something more contemporary.
Will look into the BMW and Rover SD1 gear knob options. Something plain black leather would do me fine. Is it just me, or is nothing straight-forward with these cars ?!
Points noted on my photographic skills ! They made a big deal in the shop of the ability to adjust the exposure on the camera, and I thought it might have shown the grain on the veneer better. Should have left it on the auto setting :-( I'll attempt to do better next weekend and post another couple of photos.
