Because of this topic Mike I've just worked mine out (was resisting the temptation until now)...

Average mpg is a surprisingly high 25 (approx) - I was expecting less than that, especially as some commented on the flames coming from my exhausts! Some longish runs on the motorways must have helped. I'd have been much less than 20 on the hairpin sections...

I've gone online and checked my actual fuel bills on my credit card statement and I spent just over £100 MORE than you. Now I know I went to the Ring on the way back but it wasn't that much of a detour Are you including your UK miles in your total? It may be different when you see the actual euro rate your card company use

Worked it out using Euros (on credit card bill) but didn't keep reciepts so guessed average price at 1.40 Euro ?

All totally irrelevant really, it was just a brilliant experience, had one or two old sports cars in the past but never got around to taking them across the channel, nevermind up and down mountains !

PS Who was taking the flash photography in the tunnels, anyone got the pictures yet ?

Longers - was running out of fuel within 20 yards of the petrol pump part of your fuel ecconomy plan...;)

Phillpot - Flashes in the tunnels! Have you tried Interpol for the photos? - I did take one in Italy which shows my bonnet and the tunnel quite well, but no other cars. I will try and load it later.

Longers - I can vouch for the flames on the overun, don't worry it wasn't a waste of fuel as it made me laugh. You must have a very small or dented fuel tank tho!!

I did 1936 miles in total including the UK milage. Mixture of high speed autoroute cruising and charging up mountain passes. (We won’t mention what happened in the tunnels!) Range from 24mpg to 15mpg with an average of 22mpg. Not bad eh?
