It's about right price wise.
Points to be aware of are worn cam in engine (£1000 to £1500 job if you get a garage to do it, £300 to £500 if you do it yourself depending on cam choice) and the chassis outriggers - it is almost impossible to see the critical areas of the chassis without raising the body - again if you can work a welder (or learn) materials are cheap, its the labour that costs if you farm it out.
The seller says the chassis is sorted - but still beware its 18 years old.
Rear trailing arms are also prone to rot - particularly the drivers side for some reason.
Don't let me out you off - the V8S is an awewsome car.

Incidentally Barkychoc, is there an accurate way of testing what life is left in the cam before you purchase an S? I can do an oil / brake pad change, but I am not so hot on engines....
The only sure way is to measure cam lift - and thats a partial strip down job.
If its got quite a bit of wear the performance will be down - I've had my engine rebuilt and performance can only now be described as totally mental - before it was quick but the difference is incredible. Its now also very good on fuel.
I also found with my worn cam that idle speed control wasn't very good - it would tend to stall at the lights, or be running with a very slow tickover then stall.
After rebuild its perfect, it has never stalled and really runs very well indeed - fairly close to the way modern machinery runs really.
