after removing the cats from the car and replacing with the straight through pipes iam unsure as to the spec of spark plugs to replace, steve heath quotes 2 types non cat and cat ,has the spec of the plug anything to do with the fact it has a cat thanks again kev

I'm not sure of steve heath's spec, but I suspect the difference is taper or flat seat plugs. Cat cars generally were taper, non-cat flat - although even Ford mixed them, I had a non-cat Granada with taper plugs.

It's dictated by the machining of the cylinder head. If you look on the top of the head just in front of no 4 exhaust outlet (front nearside) you'll see an embossed F or K. F means flat, K means taper.
