Well, insofar as these things are ever "finished". The V8S is finally back on the road and she’s going great! Have a look at the photo’s and the earlier threads to get an idea of what’s been going on over the last 6 months. Can’t wait for the “Italian Job” now.

Now for the roll call. Thanks to all the guys at the TVR Centre and especially Skip who did all the hard work. Tim at ACT for lots of help and advice. Dom at TVR Power for the engine re-build. Camcoat for the plenum & rocker covers. Thanks also to all the guys at the Buck TVRCC and of course all you PH guys out there for your help and support over the last six months.

Please feel free to express your opinions on the choice of wheels.

Jobs for next winter ……..

Do something about the peeling “veneer” on the dash. Suggestions/recommendations?
Re-furb the original wheels? – recommendations please.
Change the fan to a twin set-up (with an otter switch over-ride).
Replace the oil pressure gauge with a capillary one.

Quite right Roy! As soon as I’ve bucked up the courage to fit them and removed all the hard objects from the back end of the garage I’ll have Securicore deliver them from the safe deposit box under armed guard.

I like the air intake ducts on top of the wheel arches... takes miles of messy twisted duct away from the engine bay and gives it a much cleaner/neater look... do they work OK and provide good air flow ? and how do you get fresh dead flies in the cabin now hehe

looks a top job overall, well done

Fantastic job, it looks superb.
fascinated by the air intake ducts, they are a great idea,
who cares whether they work well or not, take the top off or open the window a bit,
if you want fresh air.
They get rid of all that flexible duct work flopping about, mine is knackered anyway.
They look like windscreen demister ducts from the innards of a dash board
tell us which car they came off & I'm off to the scrappy next week end.

The air ducts are from a Freelander (screen vents). I put the old wire mesh stuff back in the shortened pipe to keep the wildlife out. It does quite a good job of keeping the air out as well but when the blower in on there seems to plenty of air being blown out. As you know the original set up wasn't great and this mod was to tidy up the engine bay rather than improve air flow.

I think the blower just recirculates air from within the cabin, scratchchin the air that normally arrives in the cabin from the front of the car via the ususl manky flexi-pipes is just free-flow. I really like the vents but worry that the airflow will just not be there and may even allow engine compartment fumes into the cabin so I would be interested to hear how you get on with them as they do look 100% better thumbup

No issues with fumes getting in so far. When the car is moving any fumes are blown through the engine bay and away and (some) fresh air comes through the vents. When stationary, there is no flow so noting comes through thwe vents. I've only driven it with the roof off so far so I can't say what happens when its up. I haven't noticed any fumes with the blower on, early days though. I was more concerned about water being blown through but it rained when I was out on Friday and nothing came through.
