Electrical Connectors

Has anyone found a good alternative to those crap connectors which hoing the wiring for front lighting to the main loom either side of the rad by the hinge brackets? I've spent bloody hours replacing all the terminals but the connections are still wonky so the lights are hit and miss.

You need sureseal waterproof connecters.

And you can buy spare pins, they cost peanuts so its worth buying a couple of males and females extra in case you cock anything up. I used these and they worked fine.

Thanks for the tip. I'll order a couple tomorrow.

The terminals look the same as the ones I've just repalced. I suppose it's too much to hope they would fit in to the new connector blocks. Wouldn't it be nice if I didn't have to un-solder 36 old terminals and re-solder another 36?!!!!

Dont unsolder them, just chop them back, you will probably find the cables are corroded at the ends anyway.

They were, after chopping off the original terminals I found most of the wires had oxidised inside the outter covering so I had to clean each one back to copper with a file and then tin the ends with solder to get them to adhere to the terminals in order to get a good connection. It took about 10 bloody hours in total to do all 36 connections so that's why I'm hoping I don't have to do it all again. Plus there is only so much wire on the LH side of the loom you can cut back.
