Spot Caliper

Hi All.
Anybody know if you can use a rear handbrake calipers as a handbrake, I have Wilwood 4 pots on the rear so I have no mechanical handbrake, I was just thinking of using a blanked off Ford caliper. I know there are Hi-Spec and Compbrake that do them but I was just trying to use things in the shed.

Any help appreciate.

I can't see any problem in using a dedicated handbrake calliper - the mot only require a 'mechanical means' to slow the car down (specified g force) it does not state how it is achieved. The LandRover has a drum in the propshaft and nowhere near the wheels.

I think it would work OK - but might need a little thought in terms of the hydraulic fittings - if you blank them off won't that give you problem with caliper movement - i.e. the trapped air may stop it moving properly?

Good point, I could just run a vent pipe to the boot same as they do on the landrover rear axle to keep the water out.
