Hi All,

In light of the problems I've been having with the cooling system I've now bought a new stainless steel swirl pot, stainless steel "connecting pipes" and a silicon hose set - all from ACT products. I've also bought a Chimera type otter switch to go with the new pipe.

I wondered if anyone had any tips for taking the old stuff off and putting the new stuff on (or gotcha's that I should watch out for!).

Also, should I replace anything else? The radiator / water pump / thermostat were all given a clean bill of health in January of this year...

Many thanks
Dave

Changed all my main radiator hoses last year and funnily enough only yesterday evening set about changing all the smaller hoses.
All I'll say is, if you're planning on doing the heater hoses properly (to the heater matrix, not cut and join at bulkhead) you're in for some fun !

What S do you have Nobby? I've just had my V8S done with ACT parts so I can let you have some photos if you want.

Hi I have done mine no sequence other than fitted the swirl first then the rad pipe and so on. Fairly straight forward although I ahve not done the heater ones like Phillpot as all ok. Others just take your time, and a golden rule to apply when trimming hoses is - Measure TWICE cut ONCE. Good Luck bit of an investment but they certainly makes the engine bay look good. My car is red so got a red hose kit it looks really smart IMO of course.

Hi all,

Thanks for the responses, it's an S3 in cobalt blue so I've got nice shiney blue pipes to go in the engine bay - should look good with all that stainless steel! smile Any pictures gratefully received!

I'm not gonna touch the heater pipes, well not the ones that go through the bulkhead anyway.

Any preference for make/type of anti-freeze? Any benefit from putting a "wetting agent" in the mix?

Thanks again
Dave
