To all those who played the why won't it start game on Sunday afternoon I have been doing some digging and found this ......




Cutting all the connectors out and replacing with chocolate block allowed me to replicate the fault so hopefully some new spade connectors etc should take the lottery out of starting I have had for the last 15 months!

took mine out on saturday after braking down on way to s club and getting tow truck to take me back to Bolton cut it out and of i went , well until throttle cable snaped another story

This was my solution to replacing the throttle cable on my V8S. Much, much cheaper than a TVR replacement. Joe

Amazing what some people think is acceptable when doing vehicle electrics

Get it cleaned up soldered and heat shrink round it or buy a proper connector block.

Had a westfield with similar problems as the yellow block. Broke down quite often then realised it was after changing gear - my knee was catching the dodgy ignition block under the dash.

Got some spade connectors with the correct rating coming into 'maintenance' tomorrow will replace with them if that doesn't prove reliable then soldering it is. If it does all the others will be done. Will be taking a collection of 2.5 and 6 mm wire plus compatible connectors with me to France.

I have a feeling I may have to go through the whole steering column loom/connections as the bullet connectors are everywhere and I know I have an earth leak from somewhere. A job for the winter!

Right that works then . re-wired and works fine and on a plus note the rev counter seems to be working properly for the first time above 4500rpm. It still cuts out just below the red line however its progress. Time to replace the other connections me thinks.
