France trip some advice please

Going to France next Friday for a week and taking the S. After experiences over the last couple of months I have compiled a list of tools and parts to take with me for emergency repairs, in no particular order:

Multimeter
Spanners
Collection of nuts, washers and bolts (M10 cap head for brake calipers)
Allen keys (8mm for brake calipers)
Screwdrivers
Cable ties
Lengths of wire & spade connectors
Gaffer tape
Coolant
Oil
Bible
Secret boot access tested
Breakdown cover and details
Spare bulbs
High vis (for cabin)
Triangle
Jump leads
Sun cream!

Throttle cable (who & where do I get one of these Wiki not too clear)

In your collective wisdom what else should I be looking to take?

TVR car parts do an emergencey 1 around £15 just bought 1

Bottle of Whiskey, wine and several packets of paracetamol Oh and a yellow connector of course!!!

Mark - I thought the first three are standard fit on the S -

- the yellow connector is long gone but the replacement will be changed this week for some acquired (cough) yellow spade connectors I hope the yellow is not an omen!

Might be worth adding a small petrol can - you never know with your luck your fuel gauge might be wrong and you end up running out of fuel in remote France!!

Make sure your breakdown cover extends to Europe before you go - some insurance 'add-on' breakdown cover is UK only.

Oh yeh - a nice cool bag for the beer/wine/whiskey/cool pack for head

Tools wise - add a 8MM alan key (for brake caliper bolts)

Get someone to follow you with a flat bed truck Email Tinks he has a few numbers Being serious your list just about covers every eventuality so dont worry im sure your car will be fine, as long as the driver stays away from the whiskey, post a few pics when you get back. and have a great time, p.s. If they are cheap maybe clutch master cylinder and slave replacement seals.
You could at least get them fixed at a garage if they failed.

You seem to have omitted spade connector crimp tool


and of course a mobile phone ideally with t'internet coverage because this is the best place to ask for stuff when you are up the creek anywhere.

Unlike brakes the clutch hydraulics don't get hot so in an emergency (leak) you can top up with almost anything, Never done it myself but rumour has it you could even ps in it !

Take a spare sparkplug, an ht lead and a spare coil
I alwaya carry hose bandage and an assortment of jubilee clips

Finally a reliable corkscrew and bread and cheese knives

Going near Bordeaux so any suggestions of roads to find greatly received, will edit with exact location tomorrow when back at work, on work email. Taking a second car with appropriate stickers so will post pics. That reminds me SCH photos...

As an accomblished scouter (refer to your breakfast photo) - I too believe in their moto 'be prepared'.

Although I'm beginning to think that I may need to carry more spares - especially bolts

I think you will be fine unless very unlucky - don't forget the paperwork that you may need if you are stopped - not too sure but when I went to Le Mans I took the reg docs, insurance and MoT.

You'll also need to carry the paper part of driving licence.

If using a satnav don't forget to disable the function that gives you speed camera locations and/or don't use a radar detector; both are illegal in france and will be confiscated if you're found using them

You've mentioned keeping the hi-vis vests in the car. You also need the warning triangle in there with you aswell.
