oil change

how would I go about changing the oil on a S2? looked for a drainage hole on the sump but there deoesnt seem to be one

On the side of the lowest section on opposite side to the filter

The drain on mines a 13mm bolt with a large washer on it. Have fun with the filter - its tight i got some large filter pliers which are great. Don't know how I've managed without them for so long.

Be warned the oil filter is a royal bd and you need a small one (very short to fit down between the chassis and engine.

It's a fairly easy job if you have quadruple jointed arms and one of those oil filter gripper things.

The original (Motorcraft) size filter for this engine will not fit the car due to the proximity of the chassis tubes, so TVR fitted a shorter one.

I just fitted an HOF241 from Halfords. In stock and £3 on trade and yes the old one was a complete b*****d to get off, not much left of it by the time I finished.

I might have a look in halfords then, I've read a few topics here and halfords seem to be the answer for a few things, what oil would you recommend putting back in? I was thinking magnatec since that protects the engine.

Hi I just did mine this weekend and it's a doddle if you get the car up on 4 axle stands and have a pair of filter pliers as shown and remove the filter from under the car there is plenty of room. The filter I removed from my car was a Cooper 2803 which I took into my local parts supplier and he gave me an equivalent. Had it all done in 1/2 an hour.

Did mine this weekend without even jacking it up. If you dont have a filter spanner knock a screw driver through the top and out the bottom and use the screw driver as a lever to break the seal works a treat.
