Heater Matrix advice needed!

Hi People,

I have a pin hole/leak in my heater matrix, 1990 S3.

Is there a replacement available, if so, what make is it and where can I get one?

Has anybody had their matrix re-cored, if so what were the results?

I have bypassed the heater matrix for now!

It looks a pig of a job to change it, does the whole dash have to come out?

Tin of Rad-Weld . . . .

Been looking at changing heater hoses to Silicone, right up to the heater not just to the bulkhead, but keep putting it off coz even just doing that looks a pig !

Got photos of instalation recorded when heater removed from the S3 I'm breaking will post tomorrow but have got a spare heater unit if you are interested

EdT recently sorted his matrix as it was leaking - might be worth a PM as he doesn't come on the forum that often.
He got a recore I think and it was an S1.
