I have been doing some research (based on Richard Jarvis’s greymrj original work plus input from others including Ragtop, sighck and Bristol Street Motors Worcester) on the master cylinder question and have identified the following information. Great reference Norman, have you asked for it to be added to FAQ's?

Also don't forget you will need a standard bleed screw to cap off the unused hydraulic output.

The thre types refer to the MASTER CYLINDER not the servo of which there is but one type. The price you have quoted is about right for supply from a ford dealer. But you should be able to get one (might take a while) from ebay cheaper!!

Must admit I think my life is worth £174 so I would probably bite the bullet

Just to update the thread, I realise this is for the S series but may help others as I found this thread linked from a Chimaera thread. running through this pain of a job as well as my reservoir had holes in it and after removing it the master cylinder didn't look much better. The parts no longer come with the reservoir's that I could see and the price/warranty off the tvr suppliers were a joke (warranty void if reservoir removed during fitting)

The reservoir Ford part number for my early Chimaera is "74470810" £40-£60 off eBay good used and the brake master cylinder was the third one in the thread descriptions above ( PMH974 TRW 6170668 89FB2140BA) £53.28 new
