Well Johno, thats what I want in the end (Griff)
You must be as bonkers as me! All that work.
We all strive to get better I suppose, just dont go after the same one as me in about a year!
Petrolted has managed to put a picture of ,that car,on this site, how the hell did he do that?
I've posted him a question of how he did it.

A lot of the reason behind all the work on my S is that it is my everyday car and has done 35000 miles in the last 2 years. Its now got over 90000 on the clock and was not in great condition when I bought it.
I think there may be some shocked people if they saw the state of my car against the amount of work I do to it !!!!!!!
As for wanting to keep it....I'd love to. I just want more grunt and rather than go down the upgrade route I woul also like a Griff. I personally do not feel that my S would suit a great deal more power and thats what I'd like. After you've spent all that money getting it you may aswell have bought a Griff.
The plan in general is to get shot of mine in about a year and replace with a Griff. Probably a 500 as late as I can afford to avoid the Rover box. There is still an ongoing debate in my mind about whether I want a 4.3 or a 500. I have a friend with a 4.3BV Wedge which just sounds gorgeous. The advantage of going for the later car (500) are the improved braked and suspension set-up. Its not going to be easy for a second and I intend on spending a condiserable amount of time looking for the one I want.
Sipow, how long did you look for yours and where did you end up getting it from in the end ???
Cheers

Just been reading the Chimp site (expect it applies to the griff as well) they are all moaning about the chassis on the cars going rusty. I thought that we may be able to get away from this corrosion problem with these more modren cars but it appears that it may well be worse. Owners of some 1996 cars are talking about having to have the body off! to check for bad corrosion. Some have had to replace the wishbones with new ones, this seems bad news to me. Others are talking about legal action against TVR for poor work and finish. It is alledged that TVR settle out of court when pushed to the limit.
Sod it, I say, I'm still going to get one, in the end, but the crawling underneath will still need to happen on a regular basis to keep them in good order!
The morrel of this story is, for christ sake don't sell your overalls and toolkit. Apparently they are not so easy to work on as an S.
Have you looked into this yet Johno!

Johno,
I didnt look for to long as i new what i wanted but just had to wait for the right one to come up,proberbly only a month.
Once one came up just went over to check it out at David Geralds and luckily it seems to be in good order.
Gadgit.
My 96 Griffith which i have owned for 2 months know also needs a little hammeriting on the usual places as you would honestly expect,as on the S's.
As for body off's i can only presume these are the older models and of which havent been look after v.well.

I had a look underneath a P reg Cerberra the other day and the chassis was in appalling condition. It does make me concerned as if they haven't sorted the chassis out we are all going to be going through the same strip and paint procedures we go through on 12 yr old cars !!!
I was ruly shocked at the state of this chassis I saw and in a car with that kind of performance the stresses are some what greater than a S. It was a 4.5 aswell !!! Wouldn't fancy having the body off one of them !!!
Cheers
