What Torque Settings?
Discussion
Hi everyone, just completing the front end refurb and have put the wishbones back in situ with ther nice new bushes. My problem is I have no idea how much to torque up the fixing bolts. Is it a case of as much as you can?
Tried using the search facility but haven't been able to find an answer.
Thanks in advance, Stu.

Not sure of the torque figures but I would torque up at the correct ride height. Wheels on the ground or jack the suspension up to what would be as close to a normal position for the suspension arms. The bushes will not be stressed or twisted when the car is back on the road.
I am sure someone will be along with the correct figures shortly.
Stew.

2 Top rear diff bush pinch bolt??
Are these setting for an S or possibly Griff/Chim??
Could add as FAQ once checked
Can email as a word doc if anyone wants a copy

Have had a quick look as it was my first thought but not completly straight forward and it is Chris's list, but a definate maybe.

Yep my thoughts as well but the settings I am aware of eg hub nuts/wheel nuts are close and the cars are very similar. I think thy are a better guide than no guide at all.

Norman / anyone else, I really don't regard any of the list info as 'mine', its a communal forum IMHO where we all chip in for the benefit of all.
I have for now cut and pasted the list onto the end of the bolts list as I think the information is too useful to let slip away down the forums.
I don't really have the time to tidy it up at the moment but anyone else who wants to have a go feel free, I always do a full cut and paste into notepad or something before I start and then save it to my hard drive, then if I it up I can paste it back in and noone knows what a balls up I made!
It might be worth adding a contents list, have a look at the useful links wiki for how that works (by clicking 'update this list' and looking at the code), it is fairly easy but isn't documented anywhere as far as I can tell you just have to work it out!

The steering swivel joint to the steering rack? ........
Which connection is that? The rack is bolted to the chassis and the ends are connected to the wheels via the track-rod ends. If you mean the track rod end to upright then that's listed on the table above
