Happy day ~ I’m back on the road after my winter front end refurb. I’ve just got back from the local garage who have set the geometry and checked the brakes.
It all started when I found that the radiator had a leak.Once I removed the rad I thought I might as well paint the chassis under it. One thing led to another and before I knew it off came the bonnet, exhaust, wheels, brakes and suspension.
It’s been a longish haul but in the end this is what I have done
Rubbed down and repainted front end of chassis (outriggers were replaced a couple of years ago)
Fitted recored radiator
Changed wishbone and shocker bushes (supaflex)
Fitted new steering bulkhead bearing
Painted manifolds
Replaced hoses
Uprated old SAAB servo/mastercylinder set up to mk3 Fiesta system
Replaced engine and gearbox mounts
Fitted new front brake disks, pads & hoses
Fitted new top ball joints
Painted rocker covers and replaced gaskets
Fitted new drop links ~ ta Kev
Fitted new ( second hand) exhaust ~ ta Norm!
Fitted new (second hand) seats ~ once again thanks Norm
Not being a spanner monkey I feel quite proud of what I’ve done. I’ve certainly learnt a fair bit, although to be honest once you get started it's all fairly straightforward ~ there's nothing particularly technical in what I have done.
Thanks go out to those on the forum who’ve helped with questions ~ especially the research that has gone into the SAAB servo upgrade by greymrj. Thanks also to Kev (KeTVRin) for putting up with stupid questions, sourcing parts and general advice.
I’ve still got plenty of tarting up to do but at least it’s on the road.

I went for a short drive to Halty then up on Military road.
I had to stop to wait for a bin lorry and when I set off again there was a horrible clatter and the sound of metal hitting tarmac.
I stopped and walked down the road to look for TVR bits.
All I found was an empty bag and loads of tent pegs all over the road!
Phew! I'll have them I thought ~ they'll come in handy
BTW I need longer bolts in the drop links ( especially on one side ~ yhm). What spec were the original ~ ie. diameter.
