Evening all, just been putting my S back on the deck after putting in the new swirl, new hoses and refurbed steel pipes. Forgot how low it is its been at waist height that long! Anyway my latest dilemma... When raising and lowering the back end to put on/off stands I use the little trolley jack to get some clearance then a big jack to enable me to get it on the highest height on the stands. Putting it down in reverse which is a right pain 'let it down so far then onto the small trolley jack for the final drop'. Its all a bit hairy too as I had it suspended at the back on one chassis rail whilst I got the little jack under same rail for the final drop. Is there an easy way to get it in and out of the air at the rear. Front isn't so bad as I drive it on to a loft board for extra ground clearance so can use big jack from the off, maybe should do this at the back but think it still may be too low to get the big one under. Hope this makes sense. So to cut to the chase...How do you seasoned pros tackle it? Thanks in advance Damon ps engine run and 'burping' tomorrow. If all goes well including the weather mayber a road test too. Will try to post some pics too.

put 2 chocks of wood under each wheel at rear. drop jack switch to low profile jack. drop to ground.

You could also just buy a good quality low profile jack with a long reach and high lift.

Forget to metion did have some chocks in place (just in case)So is it ok to lift/lower on one rail? to get the stands out before lowering onto chocks.

Hi Damon, i use one of those fancy alloy jacks but put a block onto the rear chasis cross rail between the exhaust pipes. It also has a cut out at one end so it doesn't catch the diff.
Things are a lot easier if you drive onto some boards first though.

Weather awfull today but hope to see you out on Wedneday evening

If I need to take the wheels off I use the two stage, jack, axle stand then re-jack method.
If the wheels are staying on, I have a set of wedge ramps with a wind up lift. It's a damn sight quicker, more so with the airgun to quickly wind it up.
