Heard a lot about waxoiling car but never had it done. Use car 98% in dry and it's always garaged. There is some evidence of rust underneath (from previous ownership prior to 2000). What are the pro's & con's and roughly what am I likely to pay - also when is the best time - just before winter?

The only quote i have seen for waxoyling is from Peninsula Automotive in Devon (0188435361). They are offering full steam clean and degrease of chassis then the waxoyl treatment for £79.95 (+VAT) seems pretty reasonable to me, dont think you could DIY it for much less unless you already have the gear to do the job... but the location may not be ideal! The only dilemma i have is whether to prep and hammerite the chassis before thw waxoyling...as i guess it is much more difficult to go back and do it at a later date. I think that the conventional thinking is that it is best to do the waxoyl treatment prior to the Winter setting in.

Cheers
