For the first time in 7 years since I got my S3 I am admitting defeat and letting a garage work on it for me. I'm really disappointed that my DIY skills (which have included a complete body off resto) have let me down.
What has beaten me you may ask..??? A $%^&* top ball joint thats what. Both sides failed the MOT. The offside was no problem. Quick application of the old pickle fork splitter and ball joint was replaced. I have been smashing seven shades out of the nearside one since Sunday but I cannot split the bloody joint from the upright. I even drove 30 miles yesterday to get a specific sized fork splitter which I tried last night to no avail.
So I marched into the MOT garage this morning and asked if they would do it and re MOT it.
I'm fed up. Its 22 degrees outside today and I'm driving the winter car.
