Flexi front brake pipes

The Chimaera uses basically the same front suspension as the S ( different wishbones but Sierra bits etc.)but instead of the "messy" two flexi's and silly little short metal pipe between, they use one nice long flexi from chassis to caliper.
I only mention this because there are currently a pair for sale in the classifieds (not by me).

I have that single hose arrangement on mine which I believe is the original factory fit, there's a grommet in the hub plate to protect the hose. I replaced the original rubber with Chim braided.

The original factory fitment (certainly up to the S3) was the two hoses and the short copper pipe.Also barkychoc reported the same on his V8 and suggested (and I agree) that to replace with a single hose woud be a modification and you should make your insurance copany aware

I've put long 'goodridge' braided on mine - ised a short length of platic hose as a guide/grommet through the hub bracket
(I'm also on Griffith? AP 4 pots and the caliper end is banjo bolt)

I have seen pictures of one other car with the single hose arrangement, and I believe that to be factory fit as well. When I did the strip down of mine I couldn't see any sign that any change had taken place and all the parts looked as if they had been there from new. Nothing mentioned in the service records either so I remain convinced that it is as shipped. I also have the imperial unions on the rear hoses which seems to differ from a few others. TVRs eh?

Having said all that, all the pics I've seen posted on here are of the two hose arrangement and I agree if that is changed then the insurance company needs to be informed.
