replacement of joints drive shaft and steering rack

Hi Guys,

Lately I am having a lot of play when driving slowly (hardly pushing the throttle). It feels like there is a lot of play in the gearbox or prop shaft.
I finaly located the problem and it seems to be in the joints between the diff and the drive shafts.
Did anyone have the same problem and were these joints easy to replace?

Furthermore there seems to be some play in my steering rack. I have been told that its ball bearings can not be repaired and the complete rack has to be replaced. I read on pistonheads that the steering rack is orgininating from a Opel kadett (vauxhall chevette), but in the book of Steve Heath it is mentionned that it is TVR specific? Does anybody know?

Hi Kees,

Is yours a LHD or a RHD car? If it's a RHD car, I have a steering rack that's surplus to requirements.
If it's a LHD rack, I've had my steering rack refurbished by v.d. Heiden Aandrijftechniek in Roosendaal, tel. [phone]. I can highly recommend them.
