Chassis Painting

Hello need to talk to fellow men about my garage activities, 
I am working on my chassis currently (S3) I know what you mean I am in the midst of chassis painting, previous owner only did 2000 miles in 9 years so car was stood in the garage a while and has not had much time spent on it. Got the front looking pretty smart now mainly just dirt, now heading backwards, centre rails are fine in the middle of the car but deteriorate around the rear axle, passenger side being the worst. It is still solid though which is the main just some surface rust in parts and flaky paint. Also discovered the fuel filter did wonder where it was hiding!! and the route of the steel re-inforced fuel pipe from the surge, can't believe how close it is to the exhaust
Tank is corroded but again its solid but will need to be treated at some point but it will have to wait a while or it will turn into a 4th bridge challenge and I will never see the road. Its had a new tank cradle so thats in good order. Again its important tank is in good order given the exhaust pipes run beneath it. Enjoying my overhaul work as it is rewarding and if I take my time and do it properly it should keep the tin worm at bay. I can see why lots of you go for the body lift and chassis overhaul but need to enjoy the car a bit first. It would be far easier on a ramp (friend has one) but waiting for new steel pipes so can't move it at the moment. Ho hum will struggle on beneath the chassis

Ho hum will struggle on beneath the chassis It's worth the pain, spent a considerable time under mine last winter cleaning up the chassis. once it's done it should last a while though.
Only needed a few hours on the chassis this winter, touching up a few stone chips and topping up the dynax(waxoyl).
Reccomend Dynax spray by Bilt Hamber very easy to apply without a compressor and it works very well.
