Got some of these a while back on the bay -



Got round to using them today for the oil filter change on the S
So easy to use in the limited space and a hell of a lot better than the screw driver/hammer version that i used last time

Not the same make but the same design, look ok to me.

They are ok for occasional use but not for a full time mechanic, i've had quite a few different filter removers and the only ones that haven't broken are some blue point (snap on) ones i've got now.

I've got one of those chain things that fits a socket spanner. Are they difficult to use in the confined space? An oil change is on my list of jobs but I have yet to source a suitably small filter for the job (oh yeah and find the time and will power in the lovely weather we've been having!)

Might get one of these for the job if it saves some trouble.

Have a chain and 1/2" socket tool as well but there's not enough space under the S to use it.

I got these a couple of years ago and they worked brilliantly on the S.

With you Graham on the constant use etc,
As Wiz says if they offer a bit more control in the removal of the oil filter that'll do me.
I will probably only use them a couple of times a year anyway.

The set Roy has does look very robust though.

Underneath the car but once loosened i could just get my hand down from above to unscrew the filter. Better to be on the right side of gravity when taking off things full of liquid.
