Steering Wheel

Hi guys, anyone know the diameter of their 's' steering wheel? Got a 13'' aftermarket wheel on my S1 and it is quite stiff to turn at low speeds. I was wondering if the standard wheel was any bigger, or if not if anybody had fitted a larger one to make turning easier. If the standard one is larger has anyone got one? Thanks in advance, Steve.

I've got a standard one you can have, I don't know the dimensions as it's locked in my workshop but i'll measure it tomorrow when i go to work.

Standard wheel is only about 13 and half inches outer diameter !

Steering was very heavy on mine when I bought it and also considered a larger steering wheel but after a new pair of column uj's, bit of a front suspension overhaul and new tyres its not too bad (or maybe I'm just getting used to it)but would have to admit 3 point turns aren't much fun !!

Thanks for the replies guys, and the offer Graham. I think I'll investigate how big a wheel will fit, without removing my legs that is!

It might be my imagination but some of the early S1 steering wheels look a bit bigger than the later 'personal' wheel to me.

TVR offered a slightly larger 4 spoke option to people who found steering heavy. Think I,ve still got a new one in loft somewhere. I,ll get it out and measure it. sTeVeR

The steering wheel i have is just under 14 1/2 inches outer diameter, it is off an S1.

This is almost identical to the original moto lita wheel fitted tio the S

The original MotoLita steering wheel fitted to S1 & S2 was called a "Mk.IV"
(I didn't like the four-spoke, so I changed mine for the equivalent 3-spoke, but with drilled chromed spokes).

I've had a 15" wheel, this is about the biggest you can fit without your knuckles touching the A-pillar. The bigger wheel actually gives a better feel than the 13" wheel I have now, I just didn't like the flexing of the thin spokes in the 15" wheel. This means I'm still looking for a classic looking 15" wheel with thicker spokes.
