v8s roof clips ?

anyone know where to get the clips that hold down the front of the targa panels,
found some on tvr car parts but wondered if there is a cheaper option!
or has anyone got any second hand spares.
refurb nearly complete now, should be getting mot later this week,
then out for some hooning! weather permitting!

might not be needed but with a 5 litre motor and possible 150 mph + top speed i don't want to take a chance, make one hell of a mess of anything it hits at that speed!!

From what I'd heard the roof clips are only there because in the crash test the original car had the roof panels come off so whilst they aren't normally needed ..

Andy Race's roof blew off when on the way from the NRing to Spa back in 06, after going over a couple of motorway/bridge joins on the best of Belguim's roads. We might have been going slightly more than 70.

Yes I give you, a different car, but it shows how much the chassis/body can flex enabling the lugs come out of their recesses.

AFAIK Griffs never had had them, so if you do, use them.

Good advice everyone - I'll order a pair. It will also make the car conform to the manufacturers' specification for the insurance....
