It has two wires - red and black both internally connected. I have knocked off the red one and will attempt to reconect at the weekend.

On my S there is a circular plate screwed to the bulkhead with a number of connections to it. I have no idea what they are for and leave them well alone !!

I have a feeling that Steve is right and that it is a collection of earths for different things....

The earths I've seen were quite simple, basically load of black wires onto an earthing post. Could that plastic disc be a piezo electric sounder for the alarm, or something like that? Other remote possibility is that it is the ballast resistor for the injectors or ignition.

Could it be an ice warning sensor? Found mine on the nearside front of the bonnet.

I was being thick here... that would be the inside of the car.. this is the actual sensor that V8S was talking about.. they are normally a short metal bar about 1.5" long by 4-5mm dia. I doubt this would be it as you wouldn't insulate a temperature senser with plastic would you ..?

Cheers
Matt.
