Central Locking Fitted

I bought some cheek solenoids of eBay and had them wired to my Toad alarm.. excellent I now have key fob disarm and unlock on my S fantastic.. Now to wire up the boot to the extra button lol.. no I might actually do it..

I have a capable alarm and the Soleniods were less then £10 the pair.. at least if they don't last replacements are cheep. I will let you know if I have any problems but for now its great.. like a modern car..

Also had the Indicator switch replaced by Autotechnik Harrogate (ake Harrogate Auto Electrics) there is a guy 'Kit' who now knows more than is healthy about S series electrics. Anyway they have done an excellent job.

My V8S has a similar aftermarket system fitted. I could easily live without the central locking, but the remote boot release is great - no more fiddling around unlocking the car and switching on the ignition every time I want to open the boot.

I recall my previous S3 had the door solenoids fitted, along with the wiring, but they had never been connected up to anything. I assumed TVR must have fitted them to all S3s, but only completed the wiring when it was selected as an optional extra...!

A guy called David Beer www.mod-wise.co.uk makes a clever little boot release kit for Chimaeras,using a tiny magnet and a sensor behind the number plate but it will work "through the bodywork" you've just got to remember where you've stuck it ! don't see why it couldn't also work on an S ?
