Make me feel bad then!

As I could not come on sunday, I am in need of a bit of encouragement to get on with me car. So how did it all go lads. How many turned up? Who had the best car ( an S of course). Where did you all go? Was Johno's car still running by the time you all departed ??? Who got sloshed and had to be driven home. (this should have been Johno as the pints should have been lined up on the bar for him, he should'nt have had to buy a pint all day!
Above all when's the next one A.S.A.P

Gadgit,
You were osrely missed.
No my car didn't make because of 2 melted wires !!
HUGE THANX to PaulV for lending me his white S2 to drive round in convoy with Pace and Gary. A huge favour. One I can only reapy but helping him to do his exhaust manifolds in a couple of weeks.
Don't know when the next one will be but I have some ideas !!
See you at the next one.
Cheers
Mark

Gadgit,
Shame you couldn't make it - it would've been nice to meet you and Harry W who was also away.
Next time though.
Oh and you missed a fantastic day.... and the best car there, well it may not have been the cleanest but Pete Humphries 4.6 V8S was the one I wanted to see.
And Pete, Patrick's Wedge may have been the noisiest on the exit flypast - but you were the fastest...
Cheers,
JSG.

Hello S freaks - you don't know me.. but I was pleased to be there on Sunday...I read the G/Station a lot (like all the time) but don't often post.. I didn't have the best S there, but I love it all the same and was proud to see it pictured on PistonHeads.. fame at last! By the way, I enjoyed the drive back Graham.. only grounded out twice this time!!
Hope to see you all at Castle Coombe.
Hope to see you all at Castle Coombe.
Back from my hols in Cornwall today and yes the weather was fine but I was in the station Wagon all week
Whilst having a sunny outdoor pub lunch in Padstow on Sunday, sad as it is to admit, I paused to think about VW and all them luverly Tivs I was missing. I would have loved to have heard the SEAC and kicked the tyres on THE Green V8S.
Glad to see it was a stonking success and look forward to the next one.
For the record in 7 days of sunshine and almost 1000 miles of motoring I only saw 2 wedges and 1 S3 (grey with oxblood interior parked up in Rock on Friday, anyone here?).
Still go to get myself up to speed with a weeks back posts to catch up on, I take it I'm not the only sad ba*t*rd that checks the back post's when you get back of hols? or am I? even sadder than I thought then.
Re Cornwall if anyone goes here on Hols be very careful as I have never seen so many Gatso's in one place (coming from Hampshire where we have none ), I supose its another form of tourist tax

Harry,
Where are the Gatso's, I only know of a few. 1 x A30 (behind the bridge) near Oakhampton, 1x Gosmoor near Truro, 1 x Truro (near Hospital), 1 x Truro (near football club), 1 x Pool, 2 x Newquay near town centre and a couple on the A38 to Plymouth (Dobwalls I think).
Actually that little lot adds up to 9, not counting the one that got nicked in the botom of the dip near the turn off for Polyphant (A30).
The good old Camborne bypass is good for stretching the legs on a TVR with no cameras (yet!). Just watch out for the odd Kojak with a Kodak parked up on one of the slip roads, (usually Redruth).

Jas,
I'm not sure about the total number or their exact locations as the navigator didn't mark the map! But I would have thought 12 in total to be nearer the mark.
However on leaving on Saturday morning my chin nearly hit the floor on the A38 half way between Liskeard and Saltash when there was 3 in the space of 1/2 a mile.
Another suprise was that at least 2 of the camera's were on NSL A roads, a bit low even for tax generation.
Harry
Afraid there are loads of them around Cornwall now; half a dozen on the A38 between Bodmin and Plymouth, a few on the A30 between the M5 and the A395 turnoff for North Cornwall.. Gosmoor and Reruth also getting popular.
Don't worry about it too much, with summer on the way they will be diggingup the roads fairly soon so little chance of a clear enough run to get caught..
I seem to remember finding a reference to a website that lists the locations of active Cameras but can't now find it. Any ideas anyone?
Simon.

The S3 in Rock over easter was mine. I blew the silencer on the way out of London on the way down and so had a headache the whole way there and back. Probably should have slowed down...
Hope the cars OK now, didn't have time to kick the tyres, just a slow drive by so to speak.
Originally I thought it was Teds car, at first glance, Jet Setter (or was that red!) that he is topping up on pasties for the spring.
I'm originally from London myself now living on the South coast-by-the-sea, why do they call Rock "Fulham-by-the-sea"????
