Goodbye MGF, hello V8S (I hope!)
Discussion
Hi all,
I need you help, after 18 months of driving around in an MGF (yes I've heard all the jokes!) I have finally convinced the other half to go and checkout out a V8S.
There are just a couple of things I need to know to help make my case. Having had an S prior to buying the MG I know quite a few of the more general areas to check but are there any areas specific to the V8S that I should be looking out for?
Finally, and this is the crucial one guys, the other half is short so she won't even consider a tiv unless she can reach the pedals (hence me saving like made for a chimp, but not getting anywhere fast!). Does anyone know if the pedal box can be adjusted / professionally sorted in order to make it accessible for those of us who are somewhat vertically challenged?
Many thanks
Matt
V8S has quite a big range of adjustment on the seat position which should be enough for most people. There was a 'short reach' pedal box option so if you find a car with this it'll let your wife sit further back - but I don't think you'll have any trouble.
BTW the Chimaera come with adjustable pedals as well as the adjustable seat so if you need to justify a Chimp 500 instead of the 4.0 V8S this might be handy to know. (And of course, the extra power "makes overtaking safer"!)

Typical the wife is 5'2" that extra 2" must make all the difference, she had trouble driving the S (couldn't quite push the pedals all the way down), would you credit it no problems at all in the MG!
Thanks for the Chimeara tip Peter unfortunately I am losing will power fast and desperately want back into a TVR and have not as yet got the necessary funds for a Chimp.
Is the seating set up any different in the V8 to the standard S3? I.e. Does the seat slide forward further?
Many thanks
Matt
Haven't measured it - in fact I can't even get in the car unless the seat's pretty well back. But as far as I know the V8S is the same as the S3/S4.

The S3 was not a bad car and fairly reliable, however both my Griff and my brother-in-law's G500, overheated on a regular basis and build quality was not up to the standard of the S3. The Tuscan race car was badly finished, and cost me a packet! However I have driven the Tuscan , now a road car converted by Steve Howard and it is now a great car. EVO magazine gave it a better write up than the new Tuscan.
