Power Steering...forgive me...having followed an S3 (23/3/02) in my company Volvo 2ST (I know he wasn't trying...) I spent the next 10 hours on the net looking at S3's for sale. My wife is currently looking for an MGF and I am trying to convince her that an S3 would be more...mmmmmm practical, NO, I mean Fun! However, having spoken to a few S3 sellers I now realise that this beast may be too much for my delicate spouse, is it possible, dare I ask, to have power steering fitted, have you done it, please let me know, good or bad! Thanks, see you one day with mine!

Basically no chance. No space. No PAS rack made for the car.

It's a modified (and unavailable) Chevette rack, so you will just have to keep eating spinach.

This may sound obvious but if you get as far as test driving a car with her indoors, make sure the tyre pressures are correct (if not a couple of psi high) it makes a big difference to the weight of the steering on mine. I think last time I took it to Tower View they put 26 in the front tyres and in conjunction with all the work I have had done recently(new rack etc etc) it was as light as it has ever been - apart from when skidding / driving on ice and all those other fun things.

Cheers
