V6 Gear Ratios

I've been asked a question by an owner, and I don't have a clue what the answer is.

Question is: What do you think about the gear ratio 1st and 2nd? I think this ratio is too wide, so I have wanted to improve that gear ratio.

He's found that you can buy gear sets for the Type 9 at BURTON, and is asking if I know anything about them, or if there's anybody else who has changed the 1st gear seat or installed a close ratio gear set.

His car is an S3C as far as I can tell.

Anybody help?

1st 3.65:1
2nd 1.97:1
3rd 1.37:1
4th 1.00:1
5th 0.82:1

The V6 type 9 should have these ratios:

1 - 3.36
2 - 1.81
3 - 1.26
4 - 1
5 - 0.87

Well at least 4th is pretty certain
