But whilst I was there I did spot an interesting little gadget for those who have short garages, They have a proximity sensor that mounts on the wall or whatever with 3 lights on to warn you of how close you are, corny but at £4.99 a lot cheaper than a scratched (or Worse) bumper.It is batt' operated but can have a power supply connected

What's wrong with just putting a strip of wood on the floor at the point you want to stop? So you just roll up to it, the car stops itself and you plonk the handbrake on. I can't see the point of anything more complex.

I bought one of the devices a long time ago - have gone back to using the wood now - but my garage is quite long (car + strip wide enough to walk + fridge depth) and with it mounted in front of the fridges and freezers it never really was that accurate found myself getting back in car to move a bit forward too many times
