Accumate/Optimate battery conditioners

I have an Optimate battery conditioner but have just realised that this is the Motor Cycle version whereas Accumate is the car charger.

I've looked at the Accumate website and can't see anything that looks like I should stop using it on the S3 but would appreciate any informed opinion on this. The car is used on weekends during the summer but very infrequently during winter so I tend to put it on the maintenance cycle during the dark months.

Specs are:
Accumate: Lead acid, 6v-12v, 4ah-75ah
Optimate: Lead acid, 12v, 2.5ah-50ah

I would imagine it will be fine but it may use a lower charge rate when it is actually charging and hence take longer to charge a flattish battery but then as a conditioner it will probably be OK. One thing (he said as a non expert) if you have one already which, from what you say, should do the 12v try it - it won't damage the battery and as it is presumably protected itself should not be harmed.

I used the Optimate last winter without problems but only realised last week that it was a bike not a car charger and wondered if there could be a significant difference.

Have used my old bike optimate for the last 6 winters with no problems. Battery still in top condition.
