rear rain drain tubes obstructed

Hi everyone,
Did anyone suffer this problem ?
My V8S rear rain drain tubes are almost blocked and when it's raining it's a disaster...
How can I open them again ?

Do you have metal coat hangers in your part of the world.

If not any metal wire will do, but needs to be flexable.

Thanks I've tried with metal cables ad those used by electricians...
But nothing...
Is it simple to disassemble the tube ?

I tried to unblock my drain tubes without any success so I replaced them. I went to a local pet shop and got a length of clear plastic tubing used for ponds and fish tanks and used that with no problems afterwards

Take one drain tube into the shower? Not me, I took both, and a length of flexible curtain road.

Unblock and go. Remember to clean the bath afterwards though - Mrs tvrgit was less than amused.

(Sorry Carlo, you might not get that, it's a reference to an advert for a well know hair shampoo.)

mine were blocked solid at 1 time
i got the hose pipe nozzel on full blast and stuck it over the tube from below i do this now on several times a year same with petrol cap 1

Compressed air sorted mine ok.
Don't stand too close though, you'll get showered with what's in there!

The one that drains the petrol cap recess in particularly important (well, to those of us wo live in a country where it rains a lot) as if thats blocked, water can build up and seep past your knackered seal and into the fuel tank

Changing the subject slightly, think the righthand (larger) hole is to drain bonnet catch recess but any ideas where the smaller hole to the left goes ?

The problem is that the original drain fittings are nowhere near big enough (yes it does rain down here....)
I cut mine out a long time ago and fitted 10mm copper pipe ends into the gulley and 10mm poly tubes. Havent had a wet boot since.

For comparison the engine hatch drains in the Lotus are 20mm!

Can you get thin curtain wire in Italy (we use to put up net curtains) like this? If so it does the job a treat.

Yes I can found it
But How can I insert it inside the tube ?

Just push it down from the top and keep wiggling it about until it appears at the bottom
