Axle Stand Positions
Discussion
Following on from the recent thread of 'simple questions' which was asking about jacking points. Can I ask, I intend raising my S2 onto axle stands for a week so I can clean up the chasis a bit before the summer..... are there any particular places I should or shouldnt put the axle stands (I have 4) ???
Thanks very much

Steve,
I have had mine on axle stands for a week previously and would go with the advice on jacking points.
When I do mine I place 2 Axle stands below the sump on the main transmission tunnel chassis member near the bulkhead upright member.
At the rear I either put them on the large round section the trailing arms are mounted on or on the box section in the middle, although this does mean they are rather close together and the car is not as stable.
Remember to cover the tops of the stands with towel or similar to not mark the chassis.
I prefer material for this as it moulds to the shape of the chassis and axle stand whereas a piece of wood does not and therefor does not allow the axle stand to properly take the weight as designed IMHO.
Cheers
