I am now the proud owner!

Hi all, its been a long day but I am now the very happy owner of a 1989 S1. Got home around 11.30 today (it was about 100 miles and the car felt and sounded fantastic) and have spent the day taking various family members ot for a spin!

The car was bought at the bottom end of budget and I know that it will need a lot of work doing to it over the next 6 - 12 months but it is something I am looking forward to.

I would like to say a really big thanks to everyone here as your advice has been invaluable to me. I am sure that I will be bugging the life out of you all in the months to cone.....and I apologise in advance!

The first thing on my list is a good cover and to find a good independent garage in the essex (southend) area. In the near future I will also need a new hood and some trimming to the interior as well as new carpets and so if anyone has any recommendations to a newbie I would be grateful.

Welcome Steve - re the local garage it may be worth giving the local TCRCC RO a call and asking for info re garages near you - you could also go to a local meeting as well and have a chat to some other owners many of whom will have had an S in the past (and some now) so worth the effort.
