My boot lid tends to rub on diagonally opposite corners.

I have tried adjusting the 'hinges' (two coarse thread bolts) but to no avail.

Has anyone had any experience of this or fitted some better hinges (I wondered about fitting the type used on Chimeras).

Overall the boot lid and stay is a pretty c**p design - I regularly have to change the stay when a friend (or even the bag man at the Grand Hotel in Brighton) forces it shut for me.

Did they improve the boot lid on the S3+ or just the release/stay?

I have exactly the same problem on my S3C. Lid rubbed some paint off the inner boot corners leaving a powdery finish Hydraulic strut is useless too. Guess this question has been asked before but does anyone know where to get a new one ?

I got a my boot strut from a scrap yard, took the old one with me and looked for the same length and fitting and compared the pressure. Or you could call David Geralds, they have some - as I found out after I'd trawled through the scrappers.

I also looked on the strut and there was a rover part number / logo - went to rover, they wanter £30 and would take 3 - 4 weeks to get, as there was a shortage at the factory!!!!!
