S2 newbie - help needed!
Discussion
Hi Guys,
Having recently become the proud owner of an S2, I was hoping for some advice on a couple of things that with my very limited knowledge of all things car related are baffling me:
Firstly, there is a silver flick switch on the steering column quite close to where the ignition key slot is. Next to the switch is a little red light which is the same as the immobiliser one above the wheel. Anybody know what this is for? Flicking it doesn't appear to do anything...could it be alarm related?
Secondly, the instrument panels do not illuminate at night. I'm no TVR expert, but surely I can assume they weren't designed for daytime use only! Suffice to say, I had a very interesting drive home in the dark last night, so if anyone knows how to sort this I'd be grateful!
Cheers.

Just got mine too, the switch may be a fan override? although that is a complete guess crack the bonnet open with the engine running and see if it turns the fan on.
WRT the dash illumination, it should be the middle 3 position switch (dial) out of the three on the console. Mine has positions off - off - on, then everything glows a nice shade of green!

Hi Nick, and welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of S ownership
As said above my guess is also a fan over ride switch - my current and previous S had an aftermarket switch added in this area for the fan.
On my first S I had the opposite problem with my dash lights in that they were VERY bright and, because I'd never tried it in the dark, I had no idea for a long time what the middle switch on the dash was for.... The switch should give you off > dim > bright
Sometimes when driving on an unlit road with the roof off I turn the dashlights off - it's pretty spooky!!
