Chimera 400 or V8S - which would you choose?
Discussion
Personally I really like the look of the V8S compared to the Chim which is why i bought it. Has that retro classic look. Having owned it for getting on 9 months i am very happy with my decision. Saying that the Chim would not probably fit into my garage. Also i think a good V8S will command a premium over a 400 Chim in future years - but everyone to their own. Finally not having driven a Chim I am not qualified to comment on the driving experience of that model but the V8S is truely great fun.
I'd swing for the V8S.
V8S - Classic styling, has a brutal image, smaller, the big boy of the S models.
- Not as curvy as the Chim, Usual S bodywork niggles.
Chim - People pleaser, easier to handle, modern interior, quirky doorhandles.
- The little engine for the model, big, softer than most Tiv's
I'm not attacking the Chimera as it is a fantastic car, but it all depends on how you like your cars. Rough and raw - V8S or Rough and refined (for a Tiv) - Chimera.

yes i think that is right - if its a weekend car then V8S if its everyday then Chim as more comfortable
I was told by a T350 owner and ex S owner that the Chim was really UNcomfortable?? For what it's worth I say go for a 450 or 500 Chim if you're going to do it. Otherwise the S is better looking.Car will be used for a weekend blast only and I agree I like the retro looks of the V8S...however they are rare and difficult to find.
Chimaera's can be found with more choice and I am beginning to think a 450 would be better.
Would be interested to hear from anyone who has driven both....

But rare and difficult to find means its easy to move on when you want to sell it - look how many chimaera's there are for sale.Chimaera's can be found with more choice and I am beginning to think a 450 would be better.

For a weekend blast for pure fun? No question get a V8S! The chim is more civilised, not as raw so doesn't give anywhere near the smiles per gallon a V8S does. A good V8S is also quicker mine outran the 450 too, as my mate who had one found out Chimaera's can be found with more choice and I am beginning to think a 450 would be better.

Values of the V8S will also stay high due to rarity, so a no brainer IMHO
