Well - I did have on the road since April, so that's a bloody good run for me, I've got adjustable Koni shocks on the front - original I think - the top of one has broken off at low speed which was a stroke of luck, fortunately the spring fell inboard and lodged against the upper arm mounting allowing me to crawl home scrapping the exhaust most of the way!!. So any ideas what to replace with? & knowing that credit crunch isn't a cereal - at a reasonable price.

Any pointers will be gratefully received as I want it back on the road as soon as possible.

Regards Sean

Shaun,

I'd go Gaz IMHO they work fine for spirited road use and aren't that expensive at £500 for all corners.

AVO are slightly cheaper but I've been advised that they are more difficult to get set up for you although others on the forum swear by them

Sounds familiar

My non adjustable shock fell apart. The upper mounting assembly unscrewed from the shaft. It was a case of refitting the top mount to the shaft with some stud lock and then struggle to get the spring on.

Good luck.

Fitted Avo's recently but original Koni's don't look bad, you're welcome to "borrow" them, get you back on the road while you decide which way to go ?

Yep the same issue as Jed S, I'll take it apart tomorrow and have a look, serves me right when I did the car chassis up - I paid £112 pounds for new rubbers on the shocks last year - 8 bushes!!!! I think they are made of Dodo bird skin or someone's kidney, anyway I better take both fronts off as at high speed it could have been a disaster, hope the rears aren't in the same boat.

Meps option is looking good - will have butchers first.
